Quickguide
Quickguide for a happy mapping
- Plan the map
Or in short: "Know what you want". Clarify who will see it/need it, what the core topic will be, which visual structure fits best and which content should be included in the map. With good preliminary work, implementing the map is dead easy.
-
Create Project
Simply create a new project in the map overview or select a template from the templates and get started.
-
Draw Elements
Just draw the structure of your topic in the Canvas Editor. Set dots, connect dots and control the appearance in layers via visibility.
-
Customize Design
Define the basics of your design in the global design settings: the appearance of the dots, the font for the various popups, the lines and more. Besides this, each dot can be individually designed. About color, icon, border and size. If you want to apply the same design to multiple objects, you can either copy the point or define an individual object template.
-
Insert Content
Add the content you want to have to your elements. Define whether they should open in a narrow or wide window and add multimedia content. You can do this directly in the Canvas Editor at the dots or in the form for all popup content.
-
Customize web settings
You want to be able to share your content via social media? Just select the networks and the share icons will automatically appear under each content. And if SEO is important to you, you can specify the settings here so that the map and your content will be easily found by search engines.
-
Publish
Make sure that your most recent version is stored, control the access, and then select one of the embed variants. Embed your map either as an iFrame directly into your page or with an embed code that first displays a preview image before the map opens in full format in the browser.
