Map Templates
You can start your map project from scratch by simply creating a new map project of by choosing one of the predefined [1] templates. This template library is constantly growing, so it's worth taking a look from time to time. Choose the map template [2] that best fits your project. After you have selected the template, the map is automatically saved as a new map project in your map overview. You now have a template of a structure and elements that you can easily customize.
Your own Map Template
For a personal template click on the + in the template overview. A new map project will open, in which you can create your template according to your ideas. As soon as you go back to the template overview, you will discover your new template there. You can customize and edit it as you like. Before you can select this template as a template, you have to unlock this map. In the following the steps are explained:
1. Select "Create new template" to start your own template project.
2. Create the map template according to your ideas, the same way you create a map project.
3. As long as the template has not yet been activated by you, the note "in process" appears in the template overview.
4. If you want to further customize your template, select the project via the edit icon.
5. In the map options, enter additional information that will be displayed in the template overview. This way you can give yourself hints on the type of template.
6. As soon as the template is ready, first switch the latest version to "live" and set the access to "freely accessible" in the map options. In this way this map template becomes selectable in the template library and you can create new map projects from it.
7. To generate a preview image for your template in the template overview, create an image of your choice, save it under the name "preview", either as .jpg or as .png. Now upload the image to your media manager and voilà, your image will appear as a preview in the overview.
